The Texas A&M Aggies and Auburn Tigers likely envisioned the 2015 season to play out a bit differently than it did on the field. Expectations of dominating the SEC West were met with injuries and close losses, leading both programs to disappointing finishes last season.
In a recent installment of ESPN's Take Two segment, Greg Ostendorf and Sam Khan Jr. dissect the rosters and project which program has more ground to stand on going forward in 2016. Could this be the year Alabama is dethroned as the powerhouse of the country's premiere conference?
Khan notes the recent exodus of quarterbacks from the A&M roster, including Kyler Murray (Oklahoma) and Kyle Allen (Houston), but points out "solid moves in the aftermath of that debacle" when the fifth-year A&M coach snagged both "former Oklahoma quarterback Trevor Knight via graduate transfer," as well as "signing a four-star quarterback recruit" in Nick Starkel.
