Midway through the past couple years, Texas A&M landed in many College Football Playoff projections. Starting 5-0 the previous two seasons and now 4-0 in 2016 are the reason for that support, as well as A&M establishing notable wins at the time. But now, the hype appears to be legit.
Another midseason collapse seems highly unlikely for the No. 9 Aggies, who now possess stability and leadership at quarterback in Trevor Knight. Moreover, their defense is elite this year, as the unit has already won games for A&M against quality opponents. A&M handled then-No. 17 Arkansas more than it has in recent years, and its victories over UCLA and Auburn are gradually becoming more impressive.
