Many expect Texas A&M defensive end Myles Garrett will be the top pick in Thursday’s NFL Draft. While that may have been solidified for months, his leaked Wonderlic score won’t hurt his odds.
Garrett reportedly scored a 31 on the intelligence test, which was the highest among defensive ends in this year’s class, according to Bob McGinn of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. McGinn said one anonymous scout said Garrett as the top pick is “no-brainer” based on his outstanding combine performance — which included a 4.66 40-yard dash, 41-inch vertical jump, 10-8 broad jump and 33 rep bench press — high Wonderlic score and decorated college career.
