Myles Garrett cites teammates when reiterating he will play in Texas Bowl

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Texas A&M defensive end Myles Garrett respects the decisions by LSU’s Leonard Fournette and Stanford’s Christian McCaffrey’s to sit out their team’s respective bowl games. He’s just not following suit.

“No question, I’m playing,” Garrett said Tuesday. “. . . They’re their own man and I can’t let their will impose on mine.”

Garrett had released a statement Monday afternoon saying he would play against Kansas State in the Texas Bowl, and he elaborated Tuesday.

“I just got to let my teammates know that I’m all in this last game,” said Garrett, a junior who has yet to declare his NFL intention but would be in play to be the overall No.
