STARKVILLE, Miss. -- After struggling the last few weeks, Mississippi State senior quarterback Nick Fitzgerald didn't have any problems moving the offense against No. 16 Texas A&M on the first drive of the game.
Coming into the game, Fitzgerald had failed to throw for more than 100 yards in the Bulldogs' last three games. Midway through the fourth quarter, Fitzgerald already had his best conference game of the season.
With 7:33 left in the game, the quarterback had 241 passing yards, surpassing his previous conference high of 145 yards in a 28-7 loss to Kentucky on Sept.
