COLLEGE STATION -- Chennedy Carter repeats the same phrase when talking about this year’s Texas A&M women’s basketball team.
“My team.”
It’s a sense of ownership that one might seem unusual from an underclassmen. Then again, Carter has never been the typical underclassmen during her two years at Texas A&M.
Last season, Carter was the best freshman in the country and led the Aggies to the Sweet 16. But after four starters from that team left, including a couple of grad transfers to rival programs, another deep run in the NCAA tournament seemed unlikely.
But behind another big year from Carter, the Aggies are back in the Sweet 16.
