Texas A&M coach Kevin Sumlin said Wednesday that he has no issues with the leadership on his team and says “our locker room is as good as it’s ever been.”
This has been a tumultuous offseason for the Aggies, and it started in December when A&M top two quarterbacks, Kyle Allen and Kyler Murray, transferred out. It continued with the dismissal of two offensive assistants, coordinator Jake Spavital and line coach Dave Christensen. And wide receiver coach Aaron Moorehead created a stir with some late-night recruiting tweets.
But Sumlin, who spoke to the media before an appearance at the Houston Touchdown Club on Wednesday, says he is optimistic about the 2016 season.
