The search for Texas A&M's next men's basketball coach is all over
Virginia Tech athletic director Whit Babcock confirmed Wednesday morning Buzz Williams has officially accepted the A&M position. Williams will be introduced as the Aggies' next coach at a news conference later this week, according to a report from CBS Sports Tuesday night. His formal debut in College Station will be Thursday.
Williams, a former A&M assistant under Billy Gillispie, recently led the Hokies to the Sweet 16 for the first time since 1967. In five years at the ACC school, he was 100-69.
After A&M fired Billy Kennedy at the end of the season, Williams was the only name publicly linked to the job opening.
