COLLEGE STATION -- Texas A&M senior wide receiver Damion Ratley wasn't really sure how to describe his Justin Bieber-loving, redshirt freshman quarterback when asked on Tuesday.
"Man, ain't no telling what that kid likes," Ratley said of Nick Starkel, who wore a Bieber shirt during warm-ups for last week's game against New Mexico. "He's a character."
When Starkel came back out wearing a maroon jersey, he turned in one of the best performances in school history against the struggling Lobos. He threw for 416 yards in one half, the ninth-highest total in program history.
Starting this week, Starkel's degree of difficulty will be much higher.
