When Kit Martin was the Flower Mound Marcus coach in 1997, her team faced Duncanville in the playoffs. It didn't go well for Marcus against a team that featured Tamika Catchings, who played 15 seasons in the WNBA and won four Olympic gold medals before retiring last year.
"Up close and personal," Martin said, "I got to see someone who could dominate every facet of the game."
Martin sees a similar kind of domination from Chennedy (pronounced Kennedy) Carter, the guard she now coaches at Mansfield Timberview. Like Catchings, who played forward, Carter can help win a game in a variety of ways.
