Hours after Jimbo Fisher greeted those at SEC media days in Atlanta with a "howdy" and excitedly discussed his new job, he was on a plane to Houston.
Once the new Texas A&M coach arrived at NRG Stadium, he changed and headed to the second floor, ready to shake hands and speak to a sold-out ballroom filled with roughly 1,000 Aggies fans.
The reception Fisher received in June for the Houston A&M Club's "Coach's Night" was similar to those at other booster club events this offseason. The turnouts around the state serve as tangible evidence of the excitement surrounding Fisher, whose first preseason camp starts Thursday.
