COLLEGE STATION -- Did you know that Texas A&M and South Carolina played for a trophy?
Neither did the Aggies.
According to Texas A&M's game notes though, the winner of Saturday's game between the No. 22 Aggies and South Carolina will claim the Bonham Trophy.
"The who? What's that?" junior running back Trayveon Williams said.
The mysterious trophy is named after James Bonham, a native South Carolinan who died during the Battle of the Alamo in 1836. Bonham attended South Carolina College (now the University of South Carolina) before he joined the fight during the Texas Revolution.
