ARLINGTON -- Before Saturday, Texas A&M’s Jashaun Corbin had never returned a kickoff during his brief collegiate career.
Then the freshman running back accomplished something no Aggie had in 24 years. Corbin took the opening kick and returned it 100 yards for a touchdown to give the Aggies an early lead.
Corbin’s score ended up being the difference in the Aggies’ 24-17 victory over the Razorbacks. It was also the first time an A&M player has returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown since Leeland McElroy did it against Southern Miss in 1994.
As A&M’s primary back-up running back, Corbin finished with four carries for 12 carries.
