COLLEGE STATION -- Texas A&M head coach Jimbo Fisher said some people used to think he was a member of legendary Florida State head coach Bobby Bowden's family.
He may indeed be an honorary family member, having been around the Bowden family since 1985.
In college, Fisher was the quarterback for Bowden's sons Terry, who was the head coach, and Jeff, offensive coordinator, for two at Salem College in West Virginia, just 15 miles from Fisher's hometown of Clarksburg.
Both Terry and Jeff left for Samford in 1987, and Fisher followed. At Samford, Fisher broke school passing records and was named Division III National Player of the Year.
