Kevin Sumlin entered the season atop the coaching hot seat list because of Texas A&M's recent feeble finishes. In the past four Novembers, the Aggies went 7-9 and 2-7 against the SEC West.
But it's the way Texas A&M started the 2017 season that has Sumlin feeling more pressure than ever. The Aggies blew a 34-point, third-quarter lead Sunday against UCLA, eventually falling 45-44 in a game that, to many, mirrored the last few seasons under Sumlin, who is 44-22 at the school.
A year after another SEC West coach -- LSU's Les Miles -- didn't make it out of September, Sumlin has calls for his ouster after only one game, including a Facebook rant from Texas A&M regent Tony Buzbee hours after the UCLA loss.
