COLLEGE STATION -- It didn't take long for everyone at Kyle Field to see what coach Jimbo Fisher saw in sophomore quarterback Kellen Mond during the preseason.
After Texas A&M's first half of the season, Mond has looked like a much different quarterback in his second year on campus. At halftime, the Aggies lead Northwestern State 35-0 mostly because of Mond's efforts.
Mond showed why he earned the starting job over sophomore Nick Starkel in the days leading up to Fisher's coaching debut in College Station. He was 15-of-22 passing for 179 yards and two touchdowns.
When he's had time, he's been able to step up and make crisp throws.
