Good, bad and weird from Big 12's 4-2 bowl season, and why real test comes in September

A 4-2 bowl record may not convince all Big 12 doubters and skeptics, the ones snarkily asking how the conference did in the College Football Playoff.

It does beat the alternative.

After two consecutive years of sub .500 records in the bowls, the Big 12 bounced back and showed its teams could deliver in the postseason. Three of the wins came against other power conferences (Auburn, Colorado, Texas A&M).

If the result doesn't make up for two playoff misses in three years, it does position the Big 12 nicely for next season if the conference can take advantage.
