Two days later, Georgia head coach Mark Fox is still talking about the clock malfunction against Texas A&M Saturday. As he should be.
To revisit the matter, the malfunction occurred during Georgia's final possession. The officials said it was due to a faulty belt pack on a referee. Georgia's Yante Maten drew a foul with 5.6 seconds left.
However, a stopwatch was used to find that the clock stopped at the 5.6-second mark for longer than that time frame. Therefore, the foul was ruled invalid, giving Texas A&M the 63-62 victory.
Fox, a member of the NCAA Men's Basketball Rule's Committee, commented after the game about the controversial final seconds.
