Texas A&M University president R. Bowen Loftin, right, welcomes Eric Hyman as the school's new athletic director during a news conference, Saturday, June 30, 2012, in College Station, Texas.
Former Texas A&M athletic director Eric Hyman received more than half a million dollars following his departure from the university, according to a payment agreement provided to The Dallas Morning News.
Hyman received $576,190.59 in February because of termination by the university "without cause," according to the payout information obtained through an open records request.
When Hyman's departure was announced in January, a press release stated that he was "leaving his position" at his university but did not cite a specific reason.
