Tannehill's avoidance of controversy ended on Monday, however, once he sent a letter on behalf of PETA to Texas A&M University. Late last year, PETA took a stance against A&M's muscular dystrophy experiments on dogs. They alleged the canines are intentionally bred to develop this genetic disease so the university can test cures and treatments in laboratories.
