Flashback to Dennis Franchione's move from Alabama to Texas A&M; 'he left in a way he should not have left'

It's easy to look back on mistakes and criticize the decision-making that led to them. Former Texas A&M football coach Dennis Franchione can attest to that.

Alabama is the premium spot for college football, from resources to money and success. After leading the Crimson Tide to a 10-win season in 2002, Franchione ditched Alabama to coach Texas A&M. In his five seasons with the Aggies, Franchione posted an unimpressive 32-28 record and was eventually fired.

Franchione is retired now, as last year rounded out his unsuccessful stint at Texas State. His career clearly went downhill, and it all started with his decision to leave Alabama.
