A former Texas A&M player who appears to have said racist remarks in a now-deleted video will not be playing football at the school he transferred to this summer.
Arizona coach Kevin Sumlin told reporters on Monday that ex-Aggie linebacker Santino Marchiol was dismissed from the roster. Last Friday, a video surfaced where he appeared to call two black A&M players monkeys while he watched film of an April scrimmage.
“He was informed this morning that he’s no longer on the team,” Sumlin said, according to the Arizona Daily Star.
This summer, Marchiol transferred from A&M to Arizona to play for Sumlin, who was fired after six seasons at A&M.
