COLLEGE STATION – Texas A&M basketball begins practice Friday afternoon, and the Aggies own their highest expectations (and there’s not a close second) of coach Billy Kennedy’s five seasons.
At the end of last season, Kennedy guaranteed the Aggies would make the NCAA tournament, after narrowly missing out on the NCAA postseason and taking part in the National Invitation Tournament.
“I’m excited,” A&M athletic director Eric Hyman said of Kennedy’s confidence in his program – and bold proclamation. “When your coach feels that way … I don’t know that all coaches would make that kind of statement, but it’s a statement that has a lot of strength behind it.
