COLLEGE STATION -- On the night of January 15, 1958, amid one of the most botched coach searches in college football history, regent L.H. Ridout Jr. of Dallas adroitly articulated the root-cause of the latest leadership gaffe at his beloved school, Texas A&M.
"Aggies have never been known for their unanimity of opinion," Ridout said. "I think patience is a virtue that has been lost in some areas."
Especially football.
One of Texas A&M's most admirable qualities is the profound love-of-school it evokes. This collective passion, exemplified by the 12th Man tradition, is as unanimous as it gets.
