JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The final offensive play of Texas A&M's 2018 may have perfectly encapsulated the entire season.
For the first 25 games Cullen Gillaspia wore No. 12 for the Aggies, he was a linebacker who primarily played on special teams. But when Jimbo Fisher was hired as A&M's coach, he needed a fullback and moved Gillaspia over to the offense.
In A&M's 52-13 win over North Carolina State in the Gator Bowl, Gillaspia made history. With a 13-yard run with 22 seconds left, the senior became the first "12th Man" to score a touchdown in school history.
