COLLEGE STATION – Considering Texas A&M and Arizona State have never played in football, the ties between the programs would seem to be minimal. But in a lot of ways, it’s going to be a big Lone Star family reunion on Sept. 5 in NRG Stadium in the Texas Kickoff – especially from the Sun Devils side of things.
Let’s start with the A&M ties from the ASU staff, and two are significant: Shawn Slocum is the Sun Devils’ new special teams coordinator and outside linebackers coach, and also holds the title of associate head coach under Todd Graham.
