Editor’s note: This is the 15th of 15 posts (whew) leading to Texas A&M camp, which starts Monday night.
COLLEGE STATION – Texas A&M will practice on its home field on August 22 and well in advance of its Sept. 12 home opener – what’s considered an achievement since the university is in the process of wrapping up a $485 million redevelopment of Kyle Field.
“I didn’t think it was possible,” A&M chancellor John Sharp said on Monday, “but they’ll be there in pads.”
Leo Goertz, A&M’s athletic fields manager, said the Aggies will likely get about three practices in on the new field before playing Ball State.
