Texas A&M will begin its NCAA Tournament on the East Coast Friday morning against 10th-seeded Providence.
When the brackets were released on Sunday, neither side seemed to know too much about their first-round opponent at first glance, and rightfully so, as Friday's matchup is the first time the Aggies (20-12) and Friars (21-13) will have met on the hardwood.
Providence is coming off of a successful run in the Big East Tournament, which solidified their NCAA Tournament bid. The Friars knocked off Big Dancers Creighton and Xavier before falling to top-seeded Villanova in the championship game.
The Friars offense is centered around senior point guard Kyron Cartwright, who is averaging 11.
