ARLINGTON -- Armani Watts was still catching his breath on the Texas A&M bench when the Aggies went out for a drive near the end of the third quarter of Saturday’s game against No. 17 Arkansas.
At that point, the game was still tied, largely because of Watts. For the second time of the night, the A&M junior free safety kept the Razorbacks out of the end zone at AT&T Stadium.
And Watts’ effort ended up being the turning point in a 45-24 win for the No. 10 Aggies in the Southwest Classic.
Two plays after Watts wrapped up Arkansas’ Keon Hatcher six yards of the end zone on fourth-and-goal, A&M senior quarterback Trevor Knight threw a 92-yard touchdown pass to Josh Reynolds to give A&M the lead for good and keep the Aggies undefeated.
