A&M's Kris Grimes earns region assistant coach of the year honor

EUGENE – Postseason honors for track and field included Texas A&M assistant coach Kris Grimes being named the men’s assistant coach of the year for the South Central Region by the United States Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association. Awards were presented on Tuesday prior to the start of the NCAA Championships.

In his second year with the Aggie program, Grimes had four male athletes advance to the national championship meet with a pair each in the pole vault and triple jump. During the SEC Championships, the jumps group scored 26 points as Texas A&M men totaled 95 points to finish in a tie for second place with Arkansas.
