Since joining the SEC in 2012, Texas A&M has won 15 conference championships (regular season or tournament) in 10 sports. The titles have come across the spectrum – women’s basketball, soccer, men’s tennis; you name it, A&M probably has won it.
All that success has put pressure on the so-called “revenue sports” – baseball, men’s basketball and football – to hold up their end of the bargain.
In 2015-16, two of them did. Billy Kennedy led Texas A&M basketball to its first conference title 30 years when the Aggies claimed a share of the regular-season crown this spring.
