COLLEGE STATION — Top-seeded Texas A&M lived to play another day with a 4-3, 12-inning victory over California on Sunday night in Blue Bell Park in an NCAA tournament regional.
The teams will meet for a final time on Monday night to determine which one advances to a super regional. A&M’s Nick Banks tallied the game-winning hit in the top of the 12th with a single to center field that scored Mitchell Nau, who’d first reached base on a two-out single. Nau had advanced to second on a throwing error by Cal shortstop Preston Grand Pre, following a groundball by Logan Taylor.
