BATON ROUGE, Louisiana – The No. 2 Texas A&M Aggies let a 5-2 lead slip away on Friday night, dropping a 9-6 decision to the No. 1 LSU Tigers at Alex Box Stadium.
For the second time in the series, the Aggies pounced on the Tigers for a run in the first. Blake Allemand threaded a leadoff single through the right side of the infield and a hit-and-run single by Mitchell Nau put runners at the corners. Logan Taylor plated Allemand, bouncing single up the middle to stake A&M to a 1-0 advantage. The Aggies would load the bases in the frame, but LSU starter Alex Lange retired Ryne Birk on strikes to end the rally.
