FORT WORTH -- On the stage of the world's largest honky-tonk, Texas A&M's John Chavis didn't dance around the subject of his defense.
On Thursday night at Billy Bob's Texas, the Aggies' defensive coordinator told the Fort Worth/Tarrant County A&M Club he took full responsibility for a finish that didn't sit well during the offseason.
"I gotta get that feeling out of my stomach," Chavis said. "It's not good."
But with roughly a week until the Aggies start preseason camp, Chavis told the room full of Aggies that he was excited about this year's unit and the preparation leading into the upcoming season.
