Alcohol sales a topic of conversation at SEC football spring meetings

SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey spoke with reporters during the Associate Press Sports Editors Southeast Region meeting at UAB this spring. The subject of alcohol sales at SEC events rose to the surface. Sankey did not see particularly enthused about changing the conference’s current no-alcohol policy.

“The conference has a policy that says that we’re not selling alcohol in the general seating area,” Sankey said. “Now, you can agree or disagree with that policy, but that’s the policy. The basis for changing that or maintaining it is one that’s developed in the conversation.”

Is that a hard no?
