When Texas A&M suddenly found itself in need of an athletic director, Alabama's Greg Byrne was referenced by those on message boards and social media.
Apparently, the internet speculation went a little further. In an interview on Monday with WJOX-FM in Birmingham, Ala., Byrne was asked about speculation someone was looking for houses in College Station on his behalf.
Byrne, the son of former A&M athletic director Bill Byrne, quickly dispelled any notions that he wanted to follow his father's path in Aggieland.
"I love him dearly, like I said, but I definitely want to be at Alabama," Byrne said during his radio interview.
