Texas A&M is enjoying the perks of being the No. 1 seed in the SEC tournament, where it gets underway at noon Friday against No. 8 seed Florida.
Thanks to a double-bye, the Aggies are starting play in the quarterfinals. A&M never made it past the second round in its first three trips to the lose-and-go-home event.
And unlike in previous years, the Aggies' March dreams aren't dependent on the results.
No. 17 A&M (24-7), which shared the regular-season crown with Kentucky, is set for its first trip to the NCAA tournament since 2011.
What happens in Nashville, though, could help establish the tone as A&M attempts to make the rest of basketball's holy month memorable.
