In their first College World Series game in five years, things didn’t exactly go as planned. Texas A&M couldn’t overcome a poor start, falling to the Oklahoma Sooners 13-8 after a catastrophic seven-run second inning. The Aggies did pull within four runs late, but never made a serious run at getting back in the game.
With the loss, the Aggies fall into the loser’s bracket and will play an elimination game at 1 p.m. on Sunday against the (checks notes) Texas Longhorns. Obviously with the season on the line, this would be a high-stakes game no matter who the opponent was.
