Former Texas A&M standout Robert Williams came off the board in Thursday's NBA draft at No. 27 to the Boston Celtics.
While some projected Williams as a potential lottery pick, he fell into the tail end of the first round.
Williams elected to leave Texas A&M following the team's Sweet 16 run in his sophomore season.
He could have declared following his freshman season after wowing scouts with his size and athleticism, but passed on being potentially picked in the first round to return to school.
As two-time SEC Defensive Player of the Year, Williams was known for his defense, especially his blocks.
