ST. LOUIS --Robert Williams could do nothing but watch in the final seconds in the final seconds of Texas A&M’s 71-70 loss to Alabama in the SEC tournament.
As Collin Sexton’s layup floated toward the basket, the A&M sophomore forward helplessly hung in mid-air as the clock approached all zeroes.
“When I slid over and jumped, when I was about to block it, I could see it coming down,” Williams said, knowing he’d be whistled for goaltending if he interfered. “I’m just looking at it like, ‘Hit the back of the iron, hit the front of the rim or something.
