In short: The recovery process surrounding Gilder’s previous injury troubles turned up something, and that something is significant enough to warrant a complete shutdown. What gives me pause, here, is what is not being said. There are no specifics, and the initial report from A&M was extraordinarily vague… which makes me fear that this is something non-basketball related.
We’ll have plenty of time to hit the secondary concerns - the impact on this year’s roster, the impact on the program as a whole, and the impact on my (somewhat limited) preseason optimism… but all of these things are secondary, and they are all secondary by a large margin.
