Admon Gilder 'pulled on his Superman suit' at Madison. Past hardships are helping the Texas A&M guard face new trials.

Throughout his life, Admon Gilder has had a knack of carrying the burdens of those around him.

When Gilder's mom battled breast cancer during his sophomore year at Madison, he made sure she made her treatment appointments before he arrived at school. As a senior, he carried a team reeling from a murder case and forfeited titles.

At times during the junior guard's career at Texas A&M, it's been more of the same. Last season, there was an eight-game stretch when he played every minute for a team that missed the NCAA tournament.

As the Aggies (13-8, 2-6 SEC) enter Tuesday's home game against Arkansas (15-6, 4-4) desperate to snap a two-game losing streak, A&M needs the toughness Gilder has exhibited the last several years in order to keep its tournament hopes alive.
