Johnny Manziel officially signing this week with the Memphis Express of the Alliance of American Football marked his return to professional football in the U.S.
And it means a local Texas high school football coach is the next person who will try to revive the career of the former Texas A&M Heisman Trophy winner who’s NFL career as a first-round draft pick failed and who most recently was cut by the Montreal Alouettes and banned from the Canadian Football League.
Mike Singletary doubles as Trinity Christian-Addison and Express head coach, and now Manziel might be his next starting quarterback.
