COLLEGE STATION -- Texas A&M (6-4, 4-3 SEC) badly needed a win Saturday afternoon at Kyle Field and did just so, delivering a 38-24 victory over Ole Miss (5-5, 1-5 SEC).
Here are five takeaways from the Aggies' win:
A&M simply couldn't afford a loss to Ole Miss.
Losing would put the Aggies on track to likely finish 6-6 and in the bottom half of the Western Division. So with its back against the wall, A&M delivered a big win over the Rebels.
Furthermore, the Aggies had to do so facing a second-half deficit. After trailing 21-14 early in the third quarter, A&M outscored Ole Miss 24-3 in the final 25 minutes.
