STARKVILLE, Miss. -- No. 16 Texas A&M couldn't make the plays it needed when it mattered and fell to Mississippi State 28-13 Saturday night at Davis Wade Stadium.
Here are five takeaways from the Aggies' (5-3, 3-2 SEC) loss:
1. A&M couldn't convert when it mattered
The Aggies had a great chance to tie the game late in the fourth quarter, setting up 1st-&-Goal from the 10-yard line with over three minutes left.
Then came a substitution infraction followed by an 8-yard sack. And on 4th-&-Goal from the 11, Kellen Mond committed the first turnover of the game, throwing an interception in the end zone.
