Jimbo Fisher coming to be the head coach of Texas A&M football was a couple of years in the making. There were rumblings of his unhappiness with Florida State for a good year or two, and there were rumors he would leave for a school he had coached at previously, like LSU, or one that has deep pockets and a desire to do anything to win, like Texas A&M.
It also helped that current Texas A&M Athletic Director Scott Woodward worked with Fisher when the pair were at LSU together.
Getting Fisher to sign on the dotted line sent waves of excitement throughout the Aggie fan base, and for good reason.
