2016 NCAA Tournament Preview: Texas A&M Aggies

The Texas A&M Aggies won their first SEC regular season title this season, and they're now back in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2011. Are they capable of making a long run in the Big Dance? Here's everything you need to know about the Aggies:

Resume:
Record – 26-8 (13-5 in SEC)
RPI – 18
Strength of Schedule – 77

Starting Lineup:
G Anthony Collins (Sr.) – 4.8 ppg, 4.5 apg
G Alex Caruso (Sr.) – 7.8 ppg, 5.1 apg
G Danuel House (Sr.) – 15.3 ppg, 4.8 rpg
G Jalen Jones (Sr.) – 15.8 ppg, 7.2 rpg
C Tyler Davis (Fr.) – 11.2 ppg, 6.0 rpg

Key Player:
Danuel House

House is the offensive leader of this team. A versatile threat, House knows how to use his strength and athletic ability to finish around the rim, and he also has a reliable jumper, making over two three-pointers per game. He’s also the only Aggies player capable of consistently creating his own offense.

Biggest Strength:
Ball movement

Head coach Billy Kennedy has this squad playing unselfish, team-first basketball on the offensive end. With two point guards on the floor in Collins and Caruso, the Aggies’ offense often runs without a hitch - and no one on this team minds giving up a good shot to get a great one. As a result, they rank 11th in the country in assists (17.1 per game) and 29th in adjusted offensive efficiency.

Biggest Weakness:
Road woes

Texas A&M is an excellent home team, but they completely fall apart when they play anywhere other than College Station. They are just 9-7 away from home this season, compared to 17-1 at home. Unfortunately for them, they won’t play at home again this season.

Outlook:
The Aggies may advance to the second round depending on their matchup, but it’s hard to imagine them making the Sweet 16 because of their lack of success on the road.
