Belgium’s Yanina Wickmayer has won her fourth WTA title in Tokyo today, getting past Poland’s Magda Linette in what was a thrilling three-set final played under the Japanese sun.
The high-quality final saw Linette take the first set as Wickmayer failed to show the same dominance she had displayed in her semi-final match against Ajla Tomljanovic early into the match. After dropping the first set, Wickmayer raised her level, snatching Linette’s first possible WTA title right from under her nose.
