Wimbledon 2015: Andy Murray banks on home support against Roger Federer

The last time Andy Murray played Roger Federer at Wimbledon he won Olympic gold in 2012, partly soothing the pain of defeat in the championships final a month earlier, and now they collide again in the semi-finals on Friday, with the Scot probably a slight favourite this time.

Federer, the world No 2 who has seven Wimbledon titles among his 17 majors, won his semi-final against Gilles Simon 6-3, 7-5, 6-2 in an hour and 35 minutes on Court No 1, while Murray, ranked just behind the Swiss and the owner of two slam titles, one of them on home soil, spent just over half an hour longer on Centre Court beating Vasek Pospisil 6-4, 7-5, 6-4.
