After enjoying Dominika Cibulkova's spectacular battle with Agnieszka Radwanska in yesterday's Wimbledon fourth-round action, I was so excited to see what the Slovak would do in the quarterfinals and whether she would indeed have to postpone her wedding scheduled for Saturday, but first-time Grand Slam quarterfinalist Elena Vesnina, ranked 50th in the world, proved to be a tough nut to crack and the calm Russian practically cruised to victory.
The world No.18 Cibulkova was constantly hopping and motivating herself on the court, but peaceful and collected Vesnina, without even a touch of drama, marched to her biggest singles victory at a Grand Slam.
